The Social Pedagogy Professional Association (SPPA) is in the process of applying to become an independent charity. All necessary paperwork to complete this process has been complied, with it due for submission in March 2018. Throughout this period, we have continued to be serviced by a Board of Trustees and an operational team.

The development of SPPA as an independent charity is being nurtured by grants from three funders, KPMG Foundation, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and Comic Relief until April 2019.

From its inception until April 2019, SPPA is being developed and supported by three partners: Centre for the Understanding of Social Pedagogy (CUSP) based at the Thomas Coram Research Unit (TCRU) of the UCL Institute of Education, ThemPra and Jacaranda. Their work is guided by a Steering Group composed of representatives from the funders, and from organisations in each of the four nations of the United Kingdom.
